Majestic Cusco Tour 5 Days / 4 Nights

Reception at the terminal or airport upon your arrival in Cusco and transfer to the hotel. You will have the morning free to acclimatize to the altitude.

In the afternoon, we will begin the tour of the Inca city, its main streets and ceremonial centers. In this guided excursion, important places such as the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral of Cusco and the Qoricancha or Temple of Santo Domingo will be visited.

Then, we will head to the outskirts of the city to visit the archaeological centers of Kenko, Tambomachay, Pucapucara and the impressive and immense fortress of Sacsayhuaman. Overnight in Cusco.

In the morning we start the full-day excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Pick up from the accommodation to head to important tourist places such as the picturesque Pisac Market. Later, in the province of Urubamba, we will enjoy a delicious Buffet Lunch.

We will continue with our tour to Ollantaytambo, with a guided tour of the fortress (built to guard the entrance to the valley and protect it from possible invasions). In the afternoon/evening, we will have the transfer to the station to take the train to Aguas Calientes. Arrival, transfer to the hotel and overnight.

We start with the bus ascent (a 20-minute trip along a zigzagging road) to reach the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. In the guided tour we will get to know the Main Square, the Intihuatana, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, cemeteries and the majestic succession of terraces that border the citadel.

After the visit, we will return to Aguas Calientes to taste a buffet lunch. In the afternoon, we will take the return train to Cusco. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and overnight.

We head southwest of Maras to visit Moray, an archaeological group unique in its kind in the region. These are gigantic natural depressions or holes that were used to build concentric agricultural terraces. It was an important biological experimental laboratory or station of the Incas, which helped to acclimatize thousands of varieties of potatoes, corn and other vegetables.

Then we will continue to the Maras Salt Mines, consisting of about 3000 small wells. The salt water that emanates from a natural spring fills the wells, and as it evaporates it crystallizes and solidifies. We will learn about the traditional extraction process that local families have maintained since time immemorial. Return to the city in the afternoon and overnight in Cusco.

At the appropriate time, according to the itinerary of your flights or buses, we will pass by your hotel for the corresponding transfer to the terminal or airport for your return trip to Lima or next destination.
