Yumbilla Waterfall Tours, Peru

This is one of our excursions that we recommend not to miss on your trip to the Amazon region, the Yumbilla Waterfall, is located in the middle of the cloud forest above the Amazon Andes in the community of Cuispes in the Amazon region.

At 8:00 AM We begin our 2-hour trip to the community of Cuispes. Upon arrival we will reserve lunch and meet our local expert guide in the area. We will then continue the trip for 15 more minutes, leave the vehicle and begin a 1-hour walk to the waterfall forest.

During our excursion we will enjoy the Medio Cerro waterfall, we will experience its waters as we cross them. About 10 minutes later you will reach the Crystal Waterfall, a beautiful waterfall that adorns the landscape.

We continue towards the Yumbilla Waterfall, whose water fall is 896 meters, the fifth highest in the world and the second highest in Peru. It is born from the San Francisco cavern at 2,723 meters above sea level, where it descends to 1,828 meters above sea level in four falls.

Bird species such as the cock-of-the-rock, the Andean toucan, the cashew thrush and animals such as sloth bears are observed. The area is rich in flora such as bromeliads, orchids and giant ferns, etc. The place is also suitable for adventure tourism such as Canyoning. After the visit we return to mobility for the return trip to Chachapoyas.
