Discover Chachapoyas in 4 Days
A perfect four-day package to discover the archaeological and natural wealth of Amazonas, visiting the viewpoints, the imposing fortress of Kuélap, the sarcophagi of Karajía and the majestic Gocta Waterfall.
Day 1: City Tour and Route of the Canyons
Pick up from the terminal or airport to your chosen hotel.
02:30 p.m. We start the tour to the route of viewpoints. We go to the town of Huancas to visit the Huanca Urco Viewpoint, where you can enjoy the landscape; we make a light stop at the Huancas square and continue with a visit to the Sonche Canyon Viewpoint, where you can see the Sonche River.
Upon returning, we finish the visit at the Viewpoint of the city of Chachapoyas.
Day 2: Kuelap, Cable Car and Walking Tour
10:00 a.m. Departure to Kuelap: Depart towards the Nuevo Tingo district, where a short stop will be made to order lunches. Then you will transfer in the first cable car system to the La Malca stop (approx. 25 min), where the tickets will be purchased. From there you start a walk of approx. 30 min. until reaching the Archaeological Complex, where you will take a tour of approx. 1 hour.
After that, you will taste a delicious lunch, then visit the Macro site and return to Chachapoyas between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m.
07:30 p.m. Night Walking Tour: Departure to the Viewpoint of the city. We will begin a tour through the main streets of the city, accompanied by a specialized guide who will provide general information and relevant historical data. The tour will culminate in a traditional bar in Chachapoyas, where you can enjoy a tasting of regional drinks.
Day 3: Quiocta Cavern and Karajía Sarcophagi
09:30 a.m. Departure: We travel from your hotel to the Lámud district, where a stop will be made to order lunches. Then we will transfer to the Quiocta Caverns where we can see and photograph large stalactites and stalagmites. After the visit you will enjoy a delicious lunch.
In the afternoon you will visit the Sarcophagi of Karajía (a unique funerary pattern in the world located high on rocky cliffs).
Return to the city between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m.
Day 4: Gocta Waterfall Full Day
09:30 a.m. Departure: Departure to the town of Cocachimba, where a short stop will be made to order lunches and buy tickets.
From there an approximate 2-hour hike will begin (or you can also rent horses) to reach the second fall of the immense Gocta Waterfall, a place where the guide will tell you some legends and stories. After the visit and taking pictures, there will be time for lunch.
Return to the city of Chachapoyas between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. and end of services.
