Huaylla Belen & Karajia Tour

Full Day

Travel Itinerary

Huaylla Belén, Luya, Amazonas, Peru

If you are a nature lover, Huaylla Belén is a surprising valley to enjoy beautiful Andean landscapes, we can appreciate the cloud forest and the exuberant wildlife that surrounds it. This beautiful natural landscape harmonizes with one of the most important funerary patterns of the Chachapoyas Culture, which are the Karajía Sarcophagi, located in the province of Luya.

These pre-Inca constructions are considered unique in the world due to their particular anthropomorphic style and the type of construction nestled in the rocky cliffs. These funerary sphinxes are located at the top of a rocky limestone mountain and preserve their original state to this day, dating from the years 1100 to 1460 AD. Without a doubt, it is one of the most important tourist attractions in the Amazon Region that you should not miss.
