Discover Chachapoyas on Foot
Explore the ancient trails of the Chachapoyas culture, navigating through spectacular landscapes, cloud forests, and impressive archaeological ruins.
Day 1: Arrival in Chachapoyas
Reception at the airport or bus station and transfer to your selected hotel. Rest of the day at leisure to acclimatize and walk around the city.
Day 2: Trekking to Kuelap
08:30 a.m. Departure to the village of Tingo, where we will begin our trek to the Kuelap Fortress. This trail is the traditional route used before the cable car was built.
The hike takes approximately 4 hours uphill. Upon arrival, we will enjoy a guided tour of the impressive fortress.
Descent by cable car and return to Chachapoyas.
Day 3: Gocta Waterfall Hike
08:30 a.m. Departure to the village of Cocachimba. From here we begin a 2 to 2.5-hour hike through the cloud forest to the base of the Gocta Waterfall, the third highest free-falling waterfall in the world.
Time to enjoy the landscape, take photos, and relax in the surrounding nature.
Hike back to Cocachimba for lunch and return to Chachapoyas.
Day 4: Departure
Breakfast at the hotel. Free time for last-minute shopping. Transfer to the airport or bus terminal for your return journey.
